How to Keep Yourself Hydrated during RAMADAN? - Simple Tips &Tricks

The Islamic holy month of Ramadan is going on and this year it lies in the hottest month of June and July when atmospheric temperature is high and days are way longer than nights. Muslims this year have to fast 15 to 20 hours a day, depending on where you live, for 30 days straight.

But in this battle with the hot days, sweat and thirst causes dehydration in human body, which in fact you all know our body is made up of 70% water. Therefore, lesser the water in body, the more you get weaker.......and weaker and die. Seriously shocking, huh!? That's true, 700+ people died in Pakistan of dehydration to a severe Heat Wave in 2015.

We have made some researches and found out some amazing Tips & Tricks that will surely help you and make you hydrated during your fast in Ramadan.

Drink Water more than what you require

Water is an essential thing for you body so drink at least two big glasses of water during Suhoor. It really helps.

Drink Lassi

Lassi is a combo mixture of yogurt, milk, ice and, sugar. It is a South Asian drink commonly available in Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. It is super delicious and healthy. Lassi quenches your thirst and gives you a lot of energy during the day time. Drink it in Suhoor and Iftar.

Eat food with high water content

That makes sense. Which food you may ask. Vegetables which includes: lettuce, tomatoes, radishes, cucumber, spinach, broccoli and, peppers. And fruits which includes: pineapples, watermelon, kiwi, melon, lemon, strawberries, blueberries and, apples. They will make sure that you stay hydrated. Eat these during Suhoor and Iftar.

Try not to Sweat

The most common problem for dehydration is sweat. Try not to spend most of your time in the mid day, especially when the day is hot and humid. If you go to gym for workouts, try to lift weight which doesn't make you sweat too much and exhausts you, like seriously. If you have a job which requires you to spend most of the time outside in the sunlight, wear a cap and pour cold water over your head frequently.

Break fast with Dates and Water

This is the most common issue with a lot of Muslims, these days. They just want to break their fast with anything they have. We suggest you, not to do that. Break your fast with some dates and water. Dates are rich in some essential elements your body needs. Try not to forget this tip during Iftar.

It's so damn delicious but you got to believe it that they are not good in these summer days especially during fast in Ramadan. They contain oil and have a hot tendency. Eat Pakoras under some limits because you simply cannot avoid it.

If you go to Taraweeh every night, you got to take a cold water bottle with yourself. Sip some after every pause in your Prayer.

When you are in bed, place a cold water bottle beside you and sip it after some times. It helps you to remain hydrated during night.

Remember, this dehydration is a serious problem in the life of every single person. Symptoms which your body shows during dehydration can range from headaches to dizziness. And cold water doesn't mean ice-cold water. Ice-cold water actually can contract your blood vessels and may cause severe difficulty in indigestion. Be smart and be safe!
